Open-Top Containers

The roofs of open-top containers consist of removable bows and a removable tarpaulin, with a door-header that may be swivelled outwards. This practical design facilitates easy packing and unpacking from above, or through the doors, by crane or crab, when the roof is open. In addition to supporting the tarpaulin, the roof bows also add greater stability to the container.

The walls of most open-top containers are constructed of corrugated steel, while the floor is made of wood. Loads of up to 1,000 kg are possible with the help of lashing rings, found in the upper and lower side rails and corner posts.

Open-top containers are used for all types of general cargo but can be especially usefull when it comes to tall cargo.
